Product Details And Features
Sauna Blanket
How do I use the Refresh Sauna Blanket?
The Refresh Sauna Blanket rolls/folds up for easy storage in the included storage bag. Most customers will store the sauna blanket under a bed or in a closet. When ready to use, unpack the sauna blanket, and unroll it in a comfortable place to use it. This may be on a floor, or may be on top of a bed or couch depending on the user.
Plan to pre-heat the sauna blanket to your comfortable temperature. A 10 minute pre-heat is a great start, but if you want to reach full temperature before you enter allow 30 minutes heating time. The temperature will drop a little as you open the sauna blanket to enter, but it will re-heat to your desired setting quickly as you use it.
Pay attention to how you feel. Regular sauna users may feel comfortable with a 45-minute session, but if you are just starting out you might want to start with 15-20 minutes at first. Once you start sweating, you will be getting the benefits of sauna use.
Remember to drink water with electrolytes post-sauna, to keep yourself hydrated. Significant electrolytes include sodium, calcium, potassium, phosphate, bicarbonate, chloride, and magnesium. (Water with a little sea salt sprinkled into it is an easy way to replace electrolytes as is coconut water.)
Is the Refresh Sauna Blanket compatible with other devices/accessories?
Sauna is a great addition to the end of a workout routine, or a pre-bedtime wind-down. Customers have reported deeper sleep on sauna days, and it can also improve post-workout recovery times.
How often can I use the sauna?
Once you are acclimated to sauna use, sauna is generally safe to use on a daily basis. As long as you stay hydrated and always be mindful of how sauna is affecting you, you can integrate sauna into your regular routine.
A general initial usage goal would be 15-20 minutes between 2 to 3 times a week once you are acclimated to sauna use. This can be increased as you become more comfortable with sauna use. The most benefits are seen with between 4 and 7 20-minute sessions each week, but benefit is also seen at 2-3 weekly sessions. The idea is to integrate sauna use into your schedule in a way that works well for you, and where you can be consistent.
As always, when trying a new device, check with your physician regarding your specific conditions and any health concerns you may have.
Can the Refresh Sauna Blanket be used outdoors?
Yes, the Refresh Sauna Blanket can be used anywhere you can safely plug it in to an electrical outlet and find a comfortable place to recline.
What are the dimensions of the Refresh Sauna Blanket?
The Refresh Sauna Blanket is approximately 70in x 75in unfolded (180cm x 190cm) and should comfortably accommodate most people up to 6 feet in height. The Refresh Sauna Blanket weighs approximately 16.5lbs and comes with a storage bag that can be carried over the shoulder.
Should I use Mylar liners to improve benefit?
We are seeing more and more “discount” sauna blankets selling mylar liners along with their blankets. While the idea that a mylar liner could create a higher temperature sensation, The Healtheory does not recommend using a mylar liner during a sauna session.
Unfortunately the mylar liner is made of very thin plastic, that will break down easily in the heated environment. As your skin’s pores will be open during your sauna session, microplastics coming off of the mylar can easily enter your skin.
The difference between mylar plastic and the polyurethane PU leather that is used in your sauna blanket is significant, and The Healtheory recommends an all-natural cotton barrier between yourself and your sauna blanket to provide an additional protective barrier during use.
Mylar liners may be sold to mask the heat retention issues of lower quality saunas, but they are not recommended to be used at any temperature.
How do I keep the Refresh Sauna Blanket clean?
Your Refresh Sauna Blanket will get sweaty with use! Plan to either use our 100% cotton Sauna Blanket liners or wear thin, natural fiber lightweight clothing such as cotton while using the Refresh Sauna Blanket (think long sleeves, pants, and socks). Our Sauna Blanket Liners are a 100% cotton waffle weave and can be machine washed and line dried or tumbled dry on low.
The fabric layer will allow your sauna to heat to higher temperatures while keeping your skin comfortable. Much of your sweat will be absorbed by the cotton liner, however, it is recommended that you fully open your sauna blanket after each use and wipe down with a damp cloth.
You may notice white powdery residue on your sauna blanket. That is the expulsion of sodium and other electrolytes in your sweat accumulating on the surface of the blanket from your session. Wipe inner surface clean between each use and let fully air dry before folding up to store.
It is also recommended that you plan to rinse in a shower after every sauna session to wash off any toxins your body has expelled during your session. Sweating is a natural part of the body’s detoxification process, so you will want to wash whatever your body expels off of your skin.
Is sauna safe for me?
Sauna use is safe for and well-tolerated by most people when utilized properly, but it is not right for everyone. Always check with your personal health care provider before using a sauna for the first time especially if you have questions about medical conditions, are taking any prescription medications, are pregnant, or are under medical supervision. Additionally, sauna use is not advised for children.
Be careful not to consume alcohol before or during sauna use.
What are the benefits of the Refresh Sauna Blanket?
According to Mayo Clinic research, some benefits of exposure to sauna may include:
1. Reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, including high blood pressure and stroke
2. Reduce risk of certain types of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease
3. Alleviate common respiratory ailments such as asthma
4. Improve chronic pain conditions
5. Reduce stress & improve overall quality of life
There may be additional benefits to sauna use as well, including weight loss, boosting your immune system, improving sleep quality, improving circulation and reducing muscle aches.
Sauna use raises your body’s core temperature, which mimics a mild and controlled fever. This can activate the body’s immune system to fight off bacteria and viruses.
PEMF Mat
What are the key features of The Healtheory’s PEMF products?
The Healtheory’s PEMF mats use two therapy modalities to induce cellular turnover, reduce inflammation, and improve overall well-being.
The first modality is PEMF is Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency therapy is a non-invasive treatment that applies intermittent, current pulse-generated magnetic field pulses over a short time frame to living tissue, using a pulse repetition frequency selected by the user. Due to the short duration and the low application pulse repetition frequency, the magnetic field is activated only the first 10 of every 100 minutes of use. PEMF was first given FDA clearance for application to heal bone fractures in 1979 and has been approved by the FDA for relief from pain and edema, plantar fasciitis, osteoarthritis, and other conditions.
The second therapy modality is the use of applied infrared heat. Separate from PEMF, but running during use of the PEMF mat, infrared heat can help with pain relief, muscle relaxation, and improved circulation. It can also help with insomnia, anxiety, and skin health. The Infrared heat temperature can be adjusted throughout your session, depending on your desired temperature.
What frequencies are pulsed for the PEMF function?
The Healtheory’s PEMF mats utilize the following frequencies:
- Mode P0 | No PEMF, Just infrared heat
- Mode P1 | 3Hz, Delta Brain Wave, Deep relaxation & falling asleep
- Mode P2 | 7.8Hz, Theta Brain Wave, Earth’s frequency & grounding mode
- Mode P3 | 10Hz, Alpha Brain Wave, Meditation & wakeful relaxation
- Mode P4 | 23Hz, Beta Brain Wave, Alert & focussed
- Mode P5 | Rotating through P1, P2, P3 and P4.
There are two types of EMF depending on their frequency: Non-ionizing (low level, perceived as harmless to humans) & Ionizing (high-level radiation which has the potential for cellular and DNA damage).
Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) electric and magnetic fields occupy the range of 0-300Hz, and all of our controlled, pulsed electromagnetic frequencies fall well below the highest end of this range, understood as safe for human exposure. In addition, PEMF with its low frequency has a long wavelength. The long wavelength helps PEMF to completely penetrate the body and efficiently support the body’s natural functions.
The benefit of exposing yourself in very short bursts to PEMF at a controlled ELF setting is that you can rebalance and restore body functions and health.
What are the benefits of PEMF usage?
PEMF usage can offset the EMF pollution of daily life. Our bodies carry electric currents (think nerve signals) and as such we are affected by the electricity we are exposed to on a daily basis. Think laptops, cell phones, microwaves, refrigerators, televisions, and even power lines. When we expose ourselves to low frequency, long wavelength controlled PEMFs, we can bring our electrical pulses back to a more natural state.
The first study of PEMF in the United States was in 1974 looking at healing bone fractures in animals. By 1979 the FDA approved PEMFs as a safe & effective treatment for non-healthing bones. However, PEMF benefit does not stop at our skeletal structure, as the frequency can travel throughout the body and have multiple benefits.
Some benefits of PEMF exposure include:
- deep recovery of muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons, fascia & tissue
- calming nerves, soothing physical tension, promoting gut health
- promote energy at the cellular level
- activate immune system defense & protection
- help with mental clarity, concentration (can reduce sensation of depression & anxiety)
- quickly reduce internal inflammation
- improve sleep quality, induce deeper sleep

What materials is the PEMF Vitality Mat made from?
The Healtheory’s PEMF mat has magnetic coils, an infrared heating system, and amethyst and tourmaline stones to conduct the heat and magnetic energy. The final layer is made from durable PU vegan leather.
What are the dimensions and weight of the PEMF Vitality Mat?
The Healtheory’s PEMF Vitality Mat comes in a few different sizes.
Chair sized Vitality Mat is approximately 20in x 40in (50cm x 100cm) and weighs 8.8lbs.
The Full sized Vitality Mat is approximately 32in x 75in or almost 3ft x 6.25 ft (80cm x 190cm) and weighs 18lbs.
How do I use the PEMF mat?
PEMF mat is relatively easy to integrate into daily life. A chair sized PEMF mat can be placed on a chair or couch, or laid flat on the floor and rested on with bent legs. The full sized PEMF mat is designed to be used in a flat or slightly angled position (due to the rows of amethyst and tourmaline, it is difficult to fold into a 90 degrees position) and can be used laying on a floor, couch or bed.
You can easily work, read, watch television or relax while using PEMF. Depending on the infrared heat setting that you select, you should not typically sweat during a PEMF session. Plan to wear comfortable clothes with natural fibers so you can relax and enjoy the benefit of PEMF. PEMF waves can pass through all substances except for metal, so it is recommended that you remove metal you may be wearing such as larger pieces of jewelry or large belt buckles in order to allow the wavelengths to circulate your body more evenly without disruption. In addition, if you carry a wallet it is recommended to remove it before use.
How long should my treatment sessions be?
Plan on using PEMF as is comfortable in your day. Try starting with shorter sessions and work yourself up to a longer session as you feel comfortable. Once you are acclimated to PEMF and have experience with how it feels to you and what temperature and PEMF settings you prefer, you can build longer sessions into your day.
Some customers will sleep on their PEMF mat through the night, and since the PEMF cycles on and off every 100 minutes for a 10 minute session, it is designed to be used for multiple hours throughout the day. Other customers who regularly work in a seated position enjoy having the chair sized PEMF at work and will have it turned on throughout the workday. Many people will feel benefit from their very first session, and for others it can take a few sessions to see a difference. If you would like to start a targeted program after acclimating to your PEMF mat, you can try using PEMF for 3-4hrs daily for 45 consecutive days, noting your results each week.
However, the most important feature of your PEMF mat will be regular use. If you cannot use it daily or for such a long period of time, using it for 20 minute quick sessions will also benefit you! Keep it in an accessible place in your home where you can easily enjoy a session while you read a book or watch TV.
What is the purpose of the amethyst and tourmaline stones in the mat?
Various types of crystals can be found in PEMF mats. In the case of The Healtheory mats, we utilize amethyst and tourmaline. These stones help retain the infrared heat as well to continue to expose you to the healing benefits of warmth.
Whether your PEMF is in the 10-min mode of pulsing your selected frequency or in the isolated infrared heat mode, you will be receiving similar benefits of cellular detoxification and reduction in inflammation.
Who should not use PEMF therapy?
If you wear a pacemaker, insulin pump, or other electrical device which cannot be removed, or are pregnant please consult your physician about using PEMF therapy.
What is the difference between PEMF and Far Infrared Sauna?
Both PEMF and infrared sauna are beneficial treatments to include in your home wellness routine. They are somewhat different in their methods of action as well as in the way that they are used. Consider your daily routine and when and how to add these modalities to your routine so that they are easy to incorporate
In the case of the Refresh Sauna Blanket, you will need to plan to use the sauna for 15-45 minutes at a time when your primary objective is to rest, be still, and let the sauna therapy work on your system. If you keep your arms inside the sauna blanket, you cannot easily read a book. You could, however, listen to a podcast, music, or watch television if you set yourself up appropriately if you chose. It can also be a time for meditation and personal reflection.
You need to plan to take a rinse shower after using the sauna blanket, and wipe down the interior which can take 1-2 minutes. It is excellent to integrate after a workout session to reduce how often you need to shower.
When considering PEMF, it can be used anytime you might be sitting or lying down for an extended period of time. However, you will not normally sweat excessively (depending on how high you set your infrared heat) and you can continue with many activities much easier during a PEMF session. PEMF can be used while sleeping, during meditation, while working, watching a movie, reading, talking on the phone, or any other type of seated/recline activity. There is generally no clean-up after PEMF either unless you plan to store your PEMF mat away. Regular PEMF users may keep their PEMF mat on the sofa (or store under the sofa when not in use), on an office chair, or in a favorite reading chair for quick and easy access.
Red Light Therapy Wrap
What is the size of the Red Light Body Wrap?
The lighted area of the wrap is approximately 10.25” x 27.5” at the longest portion. In addition, there is an elastic wrap if you want to wrap it around yourself that is an extra 11” on each end of the wrap. It is generously sized and may be used with or without the elastic wrap by just laying it on your treatment area, or standing it up for facial use.
How do I use Red Light Therapy?
Exposing yourself to Red Light Therapy can have benefits throughout your body, not just in the place where the light is shone. In the direct area the light is placed for a therapy session, you may see some benefits to the skin surface with regular use such as:
-Reduction of cellulite dimpling
-Slow repair of scar tissue (in time)
-Wound repair on sealed wounds (avoid using lights directly on actively bleeding injuries)
-Red light can cause fat cells to release fatty acids and shrink in size, thus users who apply red light to the waist can sometimes report reduction in waist circumference
-Fading of stretch marks
It is safe to use red light therapy multiple times a day. The most important indicator of your body’s tolerance for red light exposure is how you feel and how your skin reacts. It is common for our clients to see red marks show up on the skin in the places where the light diodes were closest to the skin. If these do not fade after about two hours post-session, you may want to use a lower setting or lower duration. This is an indication your skin may be sensitive to the lights at the duration or setting that you used.
Red light use should be painless and without side effects. Consult a physician if you have any specific concerns about using red and infrared light treatment. Be aware that the red lights are visible to the human eye, but the infrared lights are not, so it will appear as though some of the diodes are not functioning. Those diodes are the infrared lights in the therapy wrap.
Can I use the Body Wrap on my face?
Yes! The Red Light Therapy Wrap is safe for use on any body part skin. Some customers prefer to wear goggles while exposed to red light directly on the face, or use with eyelids closed. There is no evidence that red light will damage the eyes, but there is also no information on safety profile for extended exposure.
Red light therapy on the face is mainly used to encourage collagen production, wound healing, evening out skin tone, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. You will also get overall red light therapy in the body by applying it to your face, as the opsin light receptors send messages throughout the body. A facial treatment can have broader benefits to more areas than just the face! A 5 minute treatment is sufficient for a complete red light facial treatment, but feel free to use for longer if you are enjoying the exposure.
You may stand the panel up against a wall, or against a pillow and just have your face nearby. It may be laid directly on the facial skin or used several inches away, whatever is most comfortable for you.
What are the flashing modes?
When pressing the “On/Off” button, the Body Wrap starts in P1 mode, which is the lowest light setting. By pressing the “On/Off” button a second and third time, you will notice the lights flashing. The first mode is 10Hz and the second mode is 40Hz. These modes have both been shown to have additional benefits in applying red and infrared light to the skin. 10Hz mode allows the light to penetrate more deeply into the skin, improving wound healing time and reducing pain. Additionally, attention span may increase with exposure to 10Hz. In one study of university students, 10Hz pulsed light exposure on a palm for just 10 minutes showed improvement in attention span and concentration.
40 Hz is the gamma-band brain rhythm frequency. The brain operates on different wave frequencies, with gamma waves being fast-paced and occurring when a person is deeply focused or solving a puzzle. 40 Hz light resonates with these gamma waves. There is some evidence that exposure to 40Hz pulsed light can improve cognitive function and reduce dementia symptoms.
While it might seem unusual that a pulsed light applied to a palm or to the body could have an impact on the brain, remember that our bodies carry electrical currents, and the stimulation of nerves in one part of the body do have an ability to send signals to nerves throughout the body. Additionally, opsins which are our bodies’ light receptors are found throughout our body and not just in our eyes. The retina has the highest concentration of opsins, but they are also present in the skin and brain. Brain opsins receive light signals from other opsins in the body.
Finally, if you would enjoy a red light session but do not want to feel a heating sensation, the 10Hz or 40Hz pulsed modes may not produce a detectable heat and will be a ‘cooler’ treatment session.
What does Red Light Therapy feel like to use?
Red Light Therapy has a heating sensation to it that is controlled by the user. By selecting a lower power setting, or selecting 10Hz or 40Hz (pulsing light), you can use it at cooler temperature or no heat sensation. If you choose to use it at a higher P5 setting or for a longer period of time you can notice a great deal of warmth.
For some users, they may experience superficial red marks on the skin where the red and infrared lights are. This is completely normal and they will fade in time. If you don’t notice a decrease in redness two hours after use, you may be skin photosensitive and you should consult a physician before continuing use.
What kinds of benefits might I experience using the Red Light Body Wrap?
Red light LED light therapy has several documented benefits:
Benefits to Nitric Oxide Cycle
-Energy from the light releases Nitric Oxide
-Increased Nitric Oxide increases vasodilation
-Vasodilation increases blood flow with oxygen & nutrients
-Cells & nerves operate at homeostasis, reducing pain
-Sleep improves due to reduced pain & discomfort
-Healthier nerves increases skin sensation
-Increased circulation improves tissue healing
-Reduced overall body inflammation improves overall health
Benefits to Metabolism/Fat Loss
-Red Light therapy may also reduce adipose tissue (fat deposits) when used regularly
-Red light penetrates the skin and encourages mitochondria to release fatty acids, shrinking the size of fat cells
-Increases the number of mitochondria in fat cells, which can result in increased metabolism
-Can smooth the appearance of cellulite and skin texture unevenness
Benefits to Facial Use-Red and infrared light can help heal various types of skin damage including light scarring-Evens out skin tone-Reduce fine lines-Improve skin elasticity
Should anyone avoid Red Light Therapy?
If you are pregnant, consult a physician before use. Our product is designed for use in adults. If you are interested in red light therapy for your child, please consult a physician.
If you have an open wound that is actively bleeding you should wait to apply red light therapy until the wound has closed and is no longer bleeding. The red light increases circulation and can therefore increase bleeding in an active wound.
Anyone taking medications that induce photosensitivity or anyone with photosensitive skin should do a test patch with the Red Light Therapy wrap first to see if the skin is able to tolerate the light.
The skin test can be done by applying the light to your skin for 3 minutes and then checking for redness. If there is no redness, you can start with a 5 minute session the first day for the following 3 days, then working up to a 10 minute session for 3 days, then 15 minutes until you feel you are comfortable with the therapy.
Many therapy wrap owners will use the light for 90 minutes or more quite comfortably with no skin reactions, so the photosensitivity is just a possibility and may not affect you.
Weighted Silk Eye Mask
Why a weighted eye mask?
Weighted eye masks have become popular among people looking for new ways to get deeper, more restful sleep. There are tens of pressure points residing around the eye area. We tested several weighted eye mask designs to come up with our design, and after thorough in-house testing, this design was the most highly rated in our testing group because:
-At 65g it is one of the lightest weighted options and rests gently across eyelids and eyebrows
-For reference, pink school erasers weigh about 30g each, so it is similar to the weight of two erasers distributed across eyelids and eye sockets
-It has generous coverage to block light
-It has a more universal fit due to not using the raised eye ‘pockets’ used in some eye mask designs (these will distribute a heavier weight around the eye socket) that do not comfortably fit all faces
-Users with eyelash extensions have safely used this product with no damage to the extensions. Test for a shorter period of time if you are concerned about your extensions before using for the full night.
What are the benefits of a weighted eye mask?
Key Benefit: Improved sleep. The pressure from the mask can help to promote a sense of calm and relaxation, which can make it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.
- Reduced stress and tension: The pressure on the eyes can also help to reduce stress and tension in the muscles around the eyes and face, which can lead to a reduction in headaches and migraines.
- Better circulation: The pressure from the mask can also help to improve circulation around the eyes, which can help to reduce puffiness and dark circles.
- Improved skin: The pressure on the eyes can also help to improve the skin around the eyes, by promoting collagen production and reducing crease lines from sheets.
- Reduced light exposure: The mask can help to block out light. Even LED indicator lights around a room can be disruptive to sleep, so pure darkness is the best sleep environment.
- Soothing effects for eye conditions: The pressure from the mask may have a soothing effect on eye conditions such as blepharitis, dry eyes, and styes.
- Relaxation and stress relief: The pressure can help to promote a sense of relaxation and reduce stress, which can lead to a more restful sleep and improved overall well-being.
The benefits of weighted eye masks may vary from person to person, and some people may not find them helpful at all. Consult with a doctor or sleep specialist if you have any doubts before using.
What are the benefits of your design?
Our design has several outstanding features:
-The generous mask size allows ample coverage to block the light in your room
-Fully removable gel pack allows you to use this as an unweighted or weighted eye mask, depending on your preference on any given day
-Lightweight gel pack is completely encased in silk and provides a very light pressure to the eye area.
-Users report falling asleep more deeply and quickly with the eye mask
-Users report decrease in migraine intensity and frequency
-Gel pack may be heated or cooled to provide additional relief as needed
-Easily washable. Remove gel pack from zippered compartment. Hand wipe gel pack with mild soap and water and machine or hand wash silk mask on cold and line dry. Allow gel pack to dry completely before re-inserting into eye mask.
-22 momme silk is high grade and you can notice the difference upon touch when compared to a lower priced eye mask
Are there any precautions when using the eye mask?
The gel pack will retain its structural integrity the best if it is used at room temperature. For users who prefer to heat or cool the gel pack, if you pick one temperature (heating or cooling) and consistently use that as your preference the gel pack will last longer than if you alternate between temperature options.
If you have concerns about the effectiveness of the eye weight, feel free to test it first during a meditation session or an afternoon nap before using it for the full night. If you have an eye infection such as conjunctivitis or pink eye, cease use until your infection has cleared. Be sure to wash the eye mask in the case of using it on an infected eye so your eye can properly heal without continuing to be reinfected.
