Renewal Sauna Therapy

Infrared Sauna Therapy
The Healtheory's Refresh Sauna Blanket brings easy relaxation right into the comfort of your home.  This modality is a great way to relax and recover, as well as boost your body's natural healing and defense mechanisms.
What is an Infrared Sauna?
Far infrared sauna heat works by heating your body directly without warming the air around you.  A regular sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body.
A key feature of a sauna blanket is that your head is outside of the heated sauna space, so you are able to breathe room temperature air.  By keeping your eyes and lungs at their regular temperature, this allows you to expose your body to higher temperatures of heat for a longer time than you might be able to in a fully enclosed sauna.
What are the benefits of using a Refresh Sauna Blanket?
Sauna therapy heats the body to help flush out toxins by acting like a temporary and controlled fever without the associated fever pains or headaches.  It improves blood circulation and regular sauna use can help with recovery & pain relief, better sleep, detoxification, immune system boost, skin rejuvenation, and a stress reliever.
Always check with a physician before beginning a new therapy or if you have questions about incorporating sauna into your lifestyle.

How do I use the Refresh Sauna Blanket?
You will set the time and temperature that you desire, and allow the sauna blanket to heat up while it is folded closed for 5-10 minutes.  The Refresh Sauna Blanket will work on a floor or on a bed or couch as you prefer.  It is best to wear full natural fiber (cotton) clothes for your sauna session including socks, thin pants, and long sleeves.  These can be comfortable athletic clothes that you don't mind getting sweaty.
Wrap yourself into the sauna blanket similar to a sleeping bag, tuck your arms in as long as that is comfortable and lay back to enjoy.  Your body will start sweating once it has heated high enough.  The sauna will automatically turn off at the end of your session, and you can unwrap yourself and open the sauna fully to allow it to cool.  Take your time standing up out of the sauna as you may feel differently after your session.
Wipe down the inside fabric of your sauna with a damp cotton cloth.  If you want to use a cleaning solution, a mild diluted vinegar mixture will be sufficient and will not damage the material.  Allow the blanket to air dry in an open position before folding and storing.  Some customers enjoy taking their shower while the sauna is drying.
Your skin will have sweat and any toxins that your body expelled during your session, so be sure to rinse off well and consider using a washcloth or natural loofah to get your skin as clean as possible.
When is the best time to use Sauna Therapy?
Some great times to incorporate sauna include upon waking during early morning hours, post-workout, or before bed with enough time to rinse off before you go to sleep.
If you are incorporating PEMF therapeutics into your routine, PEMF can be used before or after sauna and the benefits of both sessions will be augmented by the combination.
How long should I use my Refresh Sauna Blanket?
If you are new to sauna use, start slowly to acclimate to the experience.  To begin, use the sauna for 20-25 minutes at a comfortable you can tolerate and then add more time and increase temperature over time as desired.

We all sweat at different stages of sauna use depending on a number of factors.  Note when you begin to sweat and plan to stay in the sauna for an additional 15-25 minutes.  Regular sauna users will enjoy sauna for between 25-45 minutes.  While it is perfectly safe to use the sauna once or twice per day, be sure to hydrate as you will lose water during your sauna sessions.
